Reiki healing is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It is based on the idea that a universal life energy (called “Reiki”) flows through all living things and can be harnessed for healing and spiritual growth. Practitioners of Reiki believe that when this energy is balanced and flowing freely, it promotes health and well-being, but when it’s blocked or disrupted, it can lead to physical, emotional, or spiritual distress.

During a Reiki session, a practitioner typically uses their hands to channel this healing energy to the recipient, either by gently placing their hands on or just above the body. The aim is to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and facilitate the body’s natural healing processes.

Reiki is non-invasive and often described as a deeply relaxing experience, although scientific evidence of its effectiveness is limited. It is commonly used as a complementary therapy alongside more traditional medical treatments.
